Client and project challenges
Health Transport Company with around 1,000 vehicles and implantation in Catalonia, Balearic and Canary Islands. Client for 20 years, we manage its insurance program comprehensively, adapting coverage to the evolution of its business, and keeping costs adjusted to the maximum with the result.
In 2018 it merged with another large company in the same sector, to form the first Spanish operator. As two historical brokers coincided for each subsidiary branch, it was decided to put the entire insurance program out to tender.
The new company had 3,050 ambulances, 7,330 employees and 380 bases throughout the Iberian Peninsula.
The merger of two “replicated” organizations forced the group to restructure and seek efficiencies in both management and cost. To do so, they required a consultancy with a global vision in risk management, greater support and a redefinition of processes and communication channels.
Our work and approach
We used the claims history to identify operational business improvements that would result in better performance, and consequently in cost reduction, and established a follow-up program with the client.

Results
By unifying the approach to risk, we achieved significant savings of -17%% son the total program, while expanding the coverage in terms of limit and scope, and simplifying and standardizing the management of the entire program.
The program was concentrated in 6 lines of insurance, with policies in Fleet, Civil Liability, Property Damage, Transportation, Employee Accidents, Travel Assistance, D&O and Cyber Risks.
We adapted all the policies and obtained in the market the best underwriting for each type of risk, at an unbeatable cost. The following year, the territorial scope was extended to England and Portugal.
